Abbey by Night Tours

This unique, atmospheric tour gives you the rare chance to explore this magnificent Cathedral by candlelight. As darkness descends, you are guided around the candlelit venue by monks and historical characters who bring to life the building’s remarkable history and highlights. The tour encounters Walter of Colchester along the way who painted the rare medieval wall paintings and you may even meet an Abbot!

The Abbey by Night tours are rare and numbers are limited so we advise early booking.

The tour lasts approximately one hour. The drinks reception starts 15 minutes before the tour start time in the Abbot’s Kitchen at the Cathedral.
