Tour of the most complete medieval gateway in England including a museum relating to the history of St Albans School founded in 948 AD.
The tour around the classrooms, rooms and dungeons, taking in the museum, which shows the history of the Gateway as a prison- where we house one of the oldest jail doors in the country and the school which has had lessons within it since 1871.
Because of the nature of the building there are two spiral staircases to climb, tight medieval doorways to navigate.
