Chris Hartgroves [Jazz, 3 piece]

Hello, I’m a double & electric bassist for classical / jazz / interesting-other music (folk, blues, country avant-garde, theatre-involved, w.h.y.) around St. Albans.

I play in the St Albans Rehearsal Orchestra, the BHW piano trio, Treble Clef, the St Albans Jazz Quartet (at the Farmers’ Market every 2nd Sunday), the St Albans Jazz Ensemble big-band (STAJE), and occasional deps, etc.

I enjoy playing locally with like-minded souls, and building a reputation as a reliable resource.

I’ve a day-job, (3 days a week), and family, so no longer interested in doing one-nighters in Swindon or Derby. I have good gear, and transport.

I’ve played in all sorts of bands over the years (Rock, Jazz-Rock, Country, Latin, Blues, Folk) and would like to get involved with a good eclectic / crossover project bringing folk, jazz, and classical ideas together. Double bass is my main thing, but I’ve always got a bass guitar to hand.
