Dark Drawing Workshop

Join us at the Museum + Gallery for a half-term dark Drawing Workshop!

Learn from professional artist, Lyn Bird to develop sketching skills with pencil, charcoal and watercolours and explore working with limited light. Lyn also happens to be blind, so is an excellent artist to learn from when it comes to creating art when visibility is difficult.

Taking inspiration from our Henry Moore exhibition. We will be working in dim lighting, using torches, lanterns and a recreated “mine shaft” complete with an actor portraying a miner to get as close as we can to Henry Moore’s drawing experience (without the suffocating heat, cramped conditions and general unpleasantness!)

Sessions at: 11:00am-1:00pm & 2:00-4:00pm

Aimed at ages 7-15 years (all children must be accompanied by an adult)
