Profile
20% of teenagers aged 13-18 years old live with depression, 1 in 10 teens suffer from a diagnosable mental health condition and 50% of all lifetime mental health cases begin before the age of 14.
20% of all teens who are cyberbullied consider suicide, and according to suicide.org, a teen takes their own life every 100 seconds. Sadly, suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for people aged between 15 and 24 years of age and approximately 1 in 5 young people self-harm.
Clearly, the fact that nearly 300,000 young people in Britain have an anxiety disorder means that something is wrong with the world today. However, in the absence of being able to change the world, we need to change the way we support our teenagers and help them to know how to support themselves.
