Harpenden Choral Society is a thriving and friendly amateur choir keen to recruit new members. They are holding an Open Rehearsal of Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Scarlatti’s St Cecilia Mass on Tuesday 12 September 2023. Admission is free and scores will be provided.

Harpenden Choral Society has an active and committed membership of about 75 singers. Their 2022-2023 season included a sell-out performance of Handel’s Messiah in November 2022, a highly praised performance of Faure’s Requiem and Vaughan William’s Dona Nobis Pacem in March 2023 and an enjoyable summer concert which included Rheinberger’s Mass in Eb and Brahms’ Song of Destiny.

The choir would like to recruit new members in all voice sections. Singers can be sure to find challenge and inspiration as well as having great fun singing with a friendly group of people. Free singing lessons are offered to new joiners under the age of 30. Reduced subscriptions are available to those under 30, full-time students and anyone in receipt of income-related benefits.
