Profile
Each September for one weekend, St Albans opens its doors to allow you to visit many of the museums and attractions free, and to explore buildings normally closed to the public. It is a once-a-year chance to discover our architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities that bring local history and culture to life. Heritage Open Days celebrates what makes local communities and neighbourhoods special. By stimulating curiosity and discovery, the event connects people with their local places and helps foster a sense of belonging and pride. The Heritage Open Days site lists hundreds of events taking place around the country. You can use their advanced search or browse the map to find out what is happening around St Albans district, including walks, talks and exhibitions
