Moore and Mining: Research Symposium

Join us for an informal discussion of Henry Moore’s coalmining drawings, currently on exhibition at St Albans Museum + Gallery. This symposium, which will include a private viewing of the exhibition Henry Moore: Drawing in the Dark, aims to facilitate discourse around the theme of Moore’s relationship to mining, and to bring together researchers currently exploring a range of topics which further illuminate this remarkable series of drawings.

‘Drawing in the Dark’ is presented in the Weston Gallery at St Albans Museum + Gallery and unites the largest collection of Moore’s coalmining drawings since they were completed for the War Artist Advisory Commission eighty years ago.
