Taking place in Verulamium Park, this amazing public display was started over 25 years ago in order to reduce firework accidents at home. Over the years it has raised over £750,000 for local and national charities. This year’s nominated charities are Herts Young Homeless and The Daylight Club well as other charities supported by St Albans Cathedral’s Mission Giving Scheme.
The Fireworks Spectacular is sponsored by Debenhams Ottaway, Solicitors and is organised by the Cathedral and local volunteer groups. The display is produced by double winners of the British Fireworks Championships, Fantastic Fireworks of Redbourn.
There will be a Food Village providing plenty of food and drink for you to enjoy too – with street food outlets, burgers and hot dogs. The bars, for the first time this year, are provided by Tring Brewery.
No sparklers or other personal fireworks are allowed in the display area. Access to the display is by all the entry points into Verulamium Park which have manned gates in operation. There is a viewing area for the disabled near Gate 3. There is another disabled viewing area accessible by made up paths on the bridge over the lake. There is very limited disabled parking available in the car park at the Verulamium Museum. See map.
This event takes place in the dark in a large open space near open water. Please have careful regard for your own safety and that of those you bring with you, especially children. You may find it helpful to bring a torch.
Please also do not bring large bags with you as these will be subject to search which may delay you and inconvenience others.
