On Sunday 16 September, the second weekend of Heritage Open Days, St Albans will be going back in time. Streets in the city centre will be themed to a different era with a variety of activities for the public to enjoy. Historic vehicles, cars, motorbikes, scooters and commercial vehicles will line the streets and businesses of all types, shops, restaurants, banks and public houses will be joining in the fun by creating their own retro feel. Holywell Hill will be themed WW1 to 1920s, St Peter’s Street WW2 and 1940s, George Street 1950s and 1960s and Catherine Street 1970s and 1980s. As well as music, performance and activities relative to the era throughout the day. The audience will be following a trail, which will take them around the city stopping at historical points of interest to answer a question about the history of the site.
